But how do you have any faith whatsover in Porcello, Kelly and Buchholz. Each one of them gets flat out shelled about half the time – and then maddening go through shut the front door stretches for a month or more. The bullpen has improved dramatically from last year’s “gasoline fed fiasco” – but that is not going to be enough to contend with this roster make-up. Need to make a trade.

20 times in 20 years. So it happens, on average, every single year. One of the 8 teams who are league-top-4 in runs scored finishes 4th or 5th in their division. 12.5%. I agree that’s not a good thing to have a 12th percentile W-L record among high-scoring teams, but it’s not as shocking as you tried to make it sound. It happens, on average, every single year.
